Good Morning Britain sparked a fierce backlash from viewers on Wednesday, with many complaining about the show’s coverage. The segment that sparked a fierce reaction was about whether men should stop taking their tops off in hot weather.
The discussion comes after 75 percent of respondents in a survey said men should only take off their shirts at the pool or on the beach.
However, some fans were unimpressed with the coverage of the show, with one complaining: “There’s obviously nothing better to talk about.”
“And you wonder why nobody watches GMB,” complained another, while a third asked: “Really? Best topic of the day? Knife crime and shoplifting are exploding, you’re unable to take the #majoroflondon #SadiqKhan to task and now you’re unable to even comment on his office posts #democracy.”
Someone else chided: “Seriously, with everything that’s going on right now.”
“The content on GMB is getting more mundane by the day,” said another, and someone else simply said, “Not much news.”
Despite the backlash, some viewers disagreed and instead shared their thoughts on the latest poll.
One replied: “There is a time and a place to take your top off. And walking down the street or grocery shopping is definitely not the place to do it.”
Richard shared his thoughts on the subject: “It’s kind of tasteless to see a guy walking down the street without a shirt on, isn’t it?”
Guest Andrew Pierce chimed in: “With her man boobs…”
“Yes,” Richard agreed, as Andrew continued, “It’s terrible.”
The ITV presenter added: “I think there’s something slightly threatening about seeing a guy walking around with his shirt off.”
When Trisha questioned his opinion, Richard continued, “It’s a little bit physically draining.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
